Alpha Phi Sigma, the University of North Florida Criminal Justice Honor Society, will be hosting an annual guest lecture series.  Dr. Laura Agnich will be delivering a presentation on school violence. 

Laura E. Agnich, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice & Criminology at Georgia Southern University. Her research focuses on school violence, including bullying, school shootings and sexual assault and dating violence among college students, and has been published in journals such as the Journal of School Violence, Deviant Behavior and the American Journal of Criminal Justice. Her work on school shootings has examined characteristics of incidents and perpetrators worldwide, media representations of school shootings and community responses to these events.

Her current research projects focus on bullying and school mass violence incidents (SMVIs) in cross-national contexts, victimization among lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) college students and the association between victimization and drug abuse.
