Mal Jones will discuss the history of hip hop and its connections with folk music.
This event is part of a larger initiative to increase offerings on Africana topics to the UNF community, including the formation of the new Africana Studies major, the hiring of two new faculty members specializing in Africana fields of study and collaborations with existing programs and speaker series.
This event is funded by the UNF School of Music, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Department of Diversity Initiatives and the new UNF Africana Studies program.
