Dr. Michael Bugeja, Distinguished Professor of the Liberal Arts and Studies at Iowa State University of Science & Technology, Greenlee School of Journalism, is a widely-published specialist in media ethics and technology and social change. Dr. Bugeja has twice won the prestigious Clifford Christians Award for Research in Media Ethics.

He's also a well-known media commentator in Inside Higher Ed and the the Chronicle of Higher Education, writing and speaking on topics such as creating a culture of mentorship, curricular creep, and how to achieve promotion from associate professor to professor -- and beyond. Please join us for his thoughtful presentation focused on being a member of and advancing within the professoriate, but full of insights for all instructional and administrative staff.

This is a hybrid event, so come in person to the OFE's new faculty lounge (Building 1, Room 1401) or attend via Zoom.

  • Host and facilitator: Dr. Gordon Rakita, Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and AVP of Faculty Excellence
