Professor Massimo Osanna will speak as a Distinguished
Lecturer as part of the Machin Initiative for Ancient Studies and UNF's
celebration of its 50thanniversary.
Professor Osanna was director of the Archeological Park of
Pompeii for 7 years and was named Director General of Italian State Museums in
2020

He has been called “the man who saved Pompeii” as he led the
most extensive excavations at the famous site since WWII (https://www.alainelkanninterviews.com/massimo-osanna/). Dr. Osanna is also a Professor of Classical
Archeology at the University Federico II of Naples.
