Plagiarism can be the cardinal offense in academic settings. Let’s consider the definition, context, and consequences of plagiarism, but also let’s figure out ways to emphasize the values of citation, the importance of source investigation, and the standards of evidence-based writing that students may not understand, but are the foundations of professional and academic success. Let’s talk about how we can revise our policies, assignments, and lessons in ways that make plagiarism improbable.
This is a hybrid event, so come in person to the OFE's new faculty lounge (Building 1, Room 1401) or attend via Zoom.
  • Facilitators: Dr. Linda Howell, Assistant Professor of English, Director of the Writing Program, and Faculty Excellence Fellow; and Dr. Gordon Rakita, Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and AVP of Faculty Excellence
