An Era of Racial Terror is on display at the UNF Thomas G. Carpenter Library from February 1 through 29. The exhibition is supported in part by a grant from the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, with special thanks to Baptist Health for additional support. Additional funding was provided through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The traveling exhibition includes eight illustrated text panels that recount the murders of seven black men whose lives were taken by extrajudicial lynch mobs in Duval County between 1909 and 1925. The narratives are based on research by historians Dr. Scott Matthews of Florida State College at Jacksonville and Dr. David Jamison of Edward Waters College. The panels feature archival documents, newspaper headlines, historical photographs and new images of local lynching sites taken by photographer Bill Yates.
