Are you tired of the SPSS/SAS/STATA license expiring on you or tired of your students only being able to use SPSS in the lab? Are you having difficulty getting SPSS/SAS/STATA to do exactly the analysis you would like to do? One solution to these issues is using the R software environment. R is free, open-source software with a lots of different packages to do all types of analyses that is quickly surpassing expensive commercial packages. R also has a robust online support community. However, learning the code for R is daunting to some researchers and students and there is a bit of learning curve to its use. This workshop will explore our current capacity to support an R community at UNF, interest in using R for research, interest in using R for courses, and how we might create a useful R support structure at UNF.
