This workshop is the first of a three-part series on understanding academic journal impact factors. Altmetrics are complementary to traditional, citation-based metrics and can tell you a lot about how often publications are discussed and used.

Learn how to use the Altmetric bookmarklet to identify the attention and influence of your research through mentions on social networks, in public policy documents, citations on Wikipedia, inclusion on blog discussions or mainstream media coverage, or Mendeley bookmarks.

This is a hybrid event, so come in person to the OFE's new faculty lounge (Building 1, Room 1401) or attend via Zoom.

  • Facilitators: Stephanie Race, Head of Research and Outreach at the Thomas G. Carpenter Library and Faculty Excellence Research Fellow; and Dr. Gordon Rakita, Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and AVP of Faculty Excellence
