In a world where AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Bard are readily accessible to students, it is probably an unwise approach to simply cross our fingers in hopes that students won’t use them in an unethical manner. Instead, we should consider teaching students new skills related to the productive and ethical use of AI technology in our respective fields. In this session, we will engage with different ways that faculty might integrate students’ use of tools like ChatGPT into their course assignments and what higher-order activities might look like that draw upon their use.
