If  you dread the moment your professor will inevitably bring up thesis statements or, get feedback that your thesis statement needs improving you are not alone. An effective thesis statement can make or break an essay, and being able to craft an effective thesis statement is a skill that will transfer to every other area of your life. It is an essential skill everyone should know, but not many master.

This workshop will examine what makes a thesis statement most effective, discuss strategies for writing and revising thesis statements, and examine sample thesis statements from a variety of disciplines and situations. This workshop will be offered in person in the UNF Writing Center and on Zoom for those who cannot attend in person.
