Be a part of a thrilling theatrical experience with the UNF Opera Theater. Our program produces two staged productions a year, a scenes program and involves students from all experience levels and training backgrounds. Everyone is welcome to audition.
The program includes the UNF Opera Theater and the Opera Workshop course. In the mainstage productions, students get to be part of a professional level performance. In Opera Workshop, every student gets a lead role in a scene handpicked for them with musical theater and opera both included. Your audition can have you be considered for either opportunity, or both.
Audition requirements:
Audition repertoire is to be performed memorized. Bring your selections in a three-ring binder, hole-punched and double sided. This is for the pianist, which will be provided for you. Attire is semi-formal.
Voice majors: Present two contrasting opera arias, only one may be in English.
Non-majors: Present two memorized selections, one of which needs to be classical. Opera is encouraged but other classical, musical theater and folk selections will also be heard.
The sign-up sheet for auditions will be located outside Dr. John Daugherty's office (45/2309), starting Monday, April 7. Walk-in auditions will be heard if there is time, but priority will be given to the sign-up list. Virtual auditions will be heard upon request. If you would like to submit a virtual audition, email videos of your audition selections to Esteban Cano at n01429165@unf.edu by noon, Thursday, April 22.
