Free Event

The UNF Iron Pour is an exciting event where students, faculty, and the community come together to create cast iron sculptures. Students break up old cast iron objects and melt it in an out-door furnace called a cupola. They then use this molten iron and pour it into molds, transforming the raw material into art. The community is welcome to come join us, purchase a scratch block, and have their artwork memorialized in cast iron. The UNF sculpture guild will then clean up your piece before you pick up at a later date. This hands-on experience showcases the skill and creativity of UNF's Sculpture Department while offering a unique opportunity for the community to participate in the wonderful experience of metal casting.
