This multimedia exhibition explores the culture, contributions, and personal stories of Hispanic people in our area. It highlights Voces y Caras: Hispanic Communities of North Florida, an oral history project that involves students of Hispanic heritage who interview family members and local residents to document their experiences as immigrants. The exhibit also showcases visual art by UNF students, as well as music and folk art from throughout the Hispanic world. Led by Dr. Constanza López, Associate Professor at the University of North Florida, Voces y Caras has collected over 200 interviews since 2012.
The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, the Department of Art, Art History & Design, the UNF Digital Humanities Institute, and the UNF Gallery of Art have come together to present this important exhibit as a way of building community, promoting engagement, and celebrating our culture.
