The J.B. Coxwell Amphitheater opened as a part of the Student Union project in August 2010. It covers 100,000 square feet of space and includes a lighted stage and sloped viewing area that can seat 6,000 spectators. The amphitheater was named for J.B. Coxwell, the owner of J.B. Coxwell Contracting Inc., who donated the labor and supplies that went into constructing the space.
